Radosław Hinz and Julienne Hinz
Now Philippines but soon we’ll both be in Poland together.
Originally: Julienne is from Bacolod City, Philippines and Radosław is from Toruń, Poland
How did you two meet?
We met by destiny and destiny made it happen through an app called WeWorld. We first met in Weworld app and started a long distance relationship immediately for 6 months. Our first meeting in person was on March 7, 2020 in Bacolod, Philippines.
Who made the first move?
Radosław Hinz made the first move on Weworld app. He sent me the message first and we started to exchange conversations, even voice calls and video calls the whole day, everyday.
Tell us about your first date.
Our first date was a jump hug on our first meeting at the airport. I was waiting for Radek at the airport and we felt so excited and nervous at the same time. Right upon seeing him for the first time stepping out of the airport arrival entrance, I ran out of breath and started running to him and gave him a jump hug. After our romantic airport moment, we had a meal with my parents and we drove around my town.
How long have you been together?
Almost 8 months
What has been one major challenge in your relationship?
Crossing more than 10,000km and fighting with coronavirus. We were stressed about the covid19 situation as this might not have allowed Radek to fly to Philippines to visit me but what’s meant to be will always find its way as Radek’s flight was the last flight allowed to leave from Poland and he supposedly chose China as a stop over but destiny made him choose Qatar instead of China. However, we are kinda thankful for the covid19 situation because having this lockdown makes us spend all the time together and Radek doesn’t have to go back to Poland and thanks to Covid19, we finally closed the distance.
How do you settle disagreements?
We don’t have many problems and if we have, we find the compromise, we don’t get angry, we talk, analyze the situation and we find solutions which will make both of us happy
If you are from two different cultures, how do you deal with the cultural differences?
We are laughing about them. We don’t mind our cultural differences. We just understand each other.
Any memorable trips together?
We went to Lakawon Island, a paradise like no other in Negros island, Philippines. It was a memorable trip as Radek really wanted to visit this wonderful island and it’s his first time seeing a beautiful tropical paradise so I took him there and made his dreams come true. What’s more fun is that our trip to Lakawon Island was the last trip allowed before the city announced a lockdown due to the covid19 situation.
When and how do you plan to close the distance?
We already closed the distance. He travelled to the Philippines to see me and was supposedly coming back to Poland after 2 weeks, but due to the lockdown of the cities and the coronavirus situation, he will stay here with me in the Philippines and we will go to Poland together very soon. We plan to get married after the lockdown and move to Poland as a married couple.
Any words of advice for other LDR Couples?
Put the love in the first place. If your love is pure, just leave everything and go, it doesn't matter if it’s 5,000km, 10,000km or 15,000km, just leave everything and go. Even if you don’t have money, just go. Be as insane as me. If I would have to rob a bank, I would do that. Do everything, In the name of love, if this love is worth it. - Radosław Hinz
